Every day we are presented with a barrage of new stimuli.  Yet neural activity in our brains remains relatively stable across long periods of time.  I am interested in the processes that maintain stability amidst complex neural dynamics, and in particular how inhibitory cell types might contribute to this stability.  There is evidence that these processes are perturbed in psychiatric and neurologic disease, and thus it is my hope that understanding stability and dynamics in neural systems will contribute to systems level approaches to treating disease.

Outside of the lab I am an avid concert goer and produce electronic music in my free time.
