BRYAN HIGASHIKUBO, PHD.

I am a staff scientist in the Hengen lab interested in cortical dynamics and the basis of neural computation. I worked as a postdoc with Dr. Jeanne Paz at the Gladstone Institutes where I studied thalamocortical mechanisms in epilepsy and sensory perception. I did my PhD work with Dr. Christopher Moore at MIT and Brown University where I focused on functional diversity in the reticular thalamus and the somatosensory system.

Outside of lab I’m interested in food, cooking, and making odd electronic music.
